The Royal Thai Armed Forces have been busy sharing key information with defence representatives from 42 countries about the ongoing situational developments along the Thai-Cambodian border.

Major General Withai Laithomya, the spokesperson for the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, confirmed this diplomatic initiative on Monday, highlighting the role of the Military Intelligence Department in briefing international military attachés.

In these meetings, they have provided not only an overview of current tensions and border security updates but also shared 11 significant documents.

These documents include six official military security directives and five translated orders, giving a comprehensive look into the strategies and policies of the Royal Thai Army and other border units. This distribution included attaché offices in Bangkok as well as 26 others globally.

This diplomatic effort represents Thailand’s commitment to military transparency, aiming to enhance international understanding and confidence.

By reaching out to its global partners and sharing such detailed insights, Thailand hopes to maintain and strengthen defence collaborations and the long-standing relations with countries all around the globe.

The provision of these briefings and documents ensures that military attachés are well-informed, consequently facilitating ongoing and future defensive cooperation.

This move underscores Thailand’s strategic approach to military diplomacy, prioritising both clarity and the reinforcement of established international security partnerships.

They found 42 countries interested in this little spat ?

Usually Thais keep such matters to themselves.

Weren't that Chinese subs that needed German engines ?

Subs are needed to keep an eye on the Cambodians in the gulf of Thailand?

I am pretty sure that most expats can understand how pathetic this tub thumping looks from the other side of the world.

42 countries of which 99%, couldn't care less.
