Tragic Discovery: Regular Customer Found Deceased at Chon Buri Internet Café

The usual rhythm of life at an internet café in Chon Buri shifted to shock yesterday, June 8, when workers discovered that a regular patron, 42-year-old Jirakit, had passed away at his computer desk. Officers from Laem Chabang Police Station, along with rescuers from the Sawang Pratheep Foundation, promptly arrived at the scene in Si Racha district to investigate the untimely death.

Jirakit was found seated at the last computer desk in the café, his head resting on the table as though in slumber. Disturbingly, the computer screen had turned off by the time police arrived. Beside Jirakit, a few personal items—an inhaler, a bottle of drinking water, a motorcycle key, and a backpack—were found. Importantly, the backpack contained several hospital appointment slips indicating ongoing heart treatment, leading officers to suspect a heart attack as the potential cause of death.

Regular at the café, Jirakit was known for his friendly demeanor, often bringing gifts for the staff and sharing stories of his life. Recently, he expressed plans to move back to his home province of Ayutthaya, a considerable change he seemed to anticipate eagerly.

According to café employees, Jirakit arrived at the establishment around 10 pm on June 7. He spent the evening watching films and listening to music. By midnight, he appeared to have dozed off at his desk. The staff attempted to gently wake him twice, but, observing that he was still breathing, they allowed him to continue resting. Tragically, upon a further attempt to rouse him, they discovered he had passed away.

This unforeseen event highlights the nuances of health issues that may linger beneath the surface of everyday interactions. Jirakit's sudden passing has not only stunned the café staff, who knew him well, but also served as a poignant reminder of the importance of health awareness and regular medical follow-ups, particularly for those with known health vulnerabilities.

While investigations continue to confirm the exact cause of death, the incident has left a heartfelt void among those who frequently interacted with Jirakit, demonstrating the lasting impact one individual can have within a community.
