A grim discovery was made this evening of 9 June, in Bangkok’s Bang Khae district when the body of a woman was found stuffed inside a white Honda HR-V with the engine and air-conditioning left running for more than 12 hours.

Pol Col Pramot Janboonkaew, Superintendent of Phetkasem Police Station, received the report at around 22:00 and quickly dispatched officers and a rescue team from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to the scene, a row of townhouses in Soi Phetkasem 67, Lak Song subdistrict.

At the location, the vehicle, a white Honda HR-V with Bangkok licence plates, was found parked in the alley. The body of a woman was discovered inside the vehicle.

According to neighbours, the car is usually parked in the area, but suspicions arose earlier in the day when a local resident’s son returned home at 11:00 and noticed the car was partially obstructing the road. He was puzzled as the vehicle had been idling with the air conditioning running for hours without any movement. The same neighbour noted that the car’s owner had frequently argued with a woman in the past, who is believed to be the deceased.

Initial police investigations suggest the woman was murdered and then placed in the car, which was left running in an attempt to slow decomposition. There are also unconfirmed reports that the suspect was still be at the scene, possibly hiding on the rooftop of one of the adjacent buildings. Police sealed off the area as they conducted a search of the area throughout the night.
