Harriotte Lane, a striking 24-year-old from Newcastle, has taken a step back from dating, attributing her decision to the intimidation factor she believes her beauty queen status brings. Freshly crowned as Miss Grand United Kingdom, Harriotte is preparing to compete at Miss Grand International in Bangkok this October.

"Being in the spotlight and successful seems to put guys off," she says.

I'd say it's your bang average looks and delusions of grandeur.

I doubt the Geordie accent helps either.

Way Aye Man.

Towering at 6ft, Lane enjoys the perks of her globe-trotting lifestyle, focusing on personal growth

6ft is quite tall enough, how tall does she want to grow?

Daft story. Does the UK still have beauty pageants? I thought they had long since ceased since the advent of feminism.

Can somebody post pictures of a real British beauty queen?

I am sure Britain have much much better then her, even in Newcastle there must be hundreds better than her, if not thousands.

Lane, a dynamic entrepreneur and owner of the coaching business Crown Coach, explains that her success, intelligence, and stature leave her age group hesitant to approach her. "Being in the spotlight and successful seems to put guys off," she says. Yet, she remains unfazed, stating, "I’m content with where I am. The right person will come in due time."

Towering at 6ft, Lane enjoys the perks of her globe-trotting lifestyle, focusing on personal growth and her burgeoning business. Her coaching company helps aspiring pageant participants find their confidence and shine on stage, much like she did.

Reflecting on her journey, she highlights how pageantry offered more than just tiaras and sashes. "I started as a shy girl with few friends and found a world of empowerment and lifelong friendships. It’s not about competition, but about enhancing yourself."

This philosophy has seen Lane accumulate multiple titles, allowing her to travel extensively, engage in humanitarian efforts, and experience what she describes as "a life people dream of." Despite common misconceptions fueled by media portrayals, she insists that pageantry is serious business, centred on empowerment and self-improvement.

Lane is passionate about inspiring young girls, particularly those from working-class backgrounds, to dream beyond societal limitations. "Raised in a hardworking family, I want to show that you don't need to hail from the capital to achieve greatness," she passionately shares. Her mission is clear: motivate others to embrace their potential and chase their dreams.

As she gears up for the competition in Bangkok, Lane reflects on what the judges seek: "It’s all about body, brain, beauty, and business. They want someone with depth and substance, not just a pretty face."

Harriotte Lane proudly represents the North East, aiming to demonstrate that extraordinary achievements are within anyone’s reach with determination and hard work.

It's probably just that, while she might seem attractive, she has little long term potential, as she's so busy with her own stuff going on.  These type of women aren't looking for a stay at home partner, but the men in her league are.

"I started out as a woman men want to date, and made myself undatable."

She's 6' tall, so chances are her feet wouldn't fit under the kitchen sink either.

Maybe she just isn't all that into Indians.

Salient...but only to the Pattaya 'news' hounds and misanthropes.
