Using ChatGPT? It might make you stupid, study finds

Using AI could impact your ability to learn, think and remember, a new study has found.

Students who used large language models (LLM) like ChatGPT to write essays showed to have poorer memory, reduced brain activity and weaker engagement than those who used other methods, the study found.

Researchers at MIT Media Lab measured electrical activity in the brain to track 54 students over several essay-writing sessions.

One group used ChatGPT, another used Google and the last had no external help at all.

Probably right to a certain extent. I wanted some stats on Diabetes, comparing uk to Thailand.

Of course I got the answers in seconds, but there was no effort on my behalf.

When we're looking for summink, in our search we discover other things, learn about associated stuff.

Here's the diabetes facts:

It is easy to look up things you already know something about, and hit their sources for back up credibility.

Saves me hips of time especially when you are a bit challenged with to many thumbs and dyslexia

Sometimes I need to read three times, and two times I can read  different mesning than it actually stands there. So if you are consensus about what you reading, I find AI great.

So, I'm trying to get better by trying and not using to much confusing tools.

Chat PTG - and all A.I. - can suck it.

Real men use their God given brains to figure stuff out.

Jokes aside, though & referring to my diabetes search.

I was convinced that Thailand had a higher incidence of it. My theory, was wrong & my train of thought has led me on a better path, more quickly.

Buy then, it is the daily mail & they are, full of shyte. mostly.

I'll ask ChatGPT if my opinion is correct..🤣😊

While we're on the subject, does anyone use ChatGPT plus? It's 750 baht/month & don't know if I'll get more benefit or more lazy..

Anyone...??

If you don't use it you lose it. Offload enough of your thinking to a computer and will forget how to think.

No,

You can save a lot of time.

And anyway, the internet is already an AI, but mostly human.

We always need to look things up.

You can ask ChatGPT if you have a business idea. It will give you pretty good advice.

Do 'real men' also not use Google or the internet?

There is a fine limit for some, while others follows the fluctuations of the markeds.

If you bought a house and land before 2008,maintained it,  and still holds it? You won? Right

The land might be worth more than you ever invested and used for maintenance.

If you have deficiency of vitamins, you need vitamins, so backed up knownledge might help to take the right decisions. Not black and white
