I am inside a village but want to connect to PEA, can anyone help?

This is a small village in Pran Buri. We have a high voltage transformer from PEA.

I have let installed 30 solar panels total 16 kW, 2 20kW inverters in parallell and 35 kW batteries.I run this off-grid.

I should like to connect to PEA direct but there seems to be some problems.

They say the house should be situated at the local road and my house is not.

But technically it should be possible. My cable is connected to a local meter in a cabinet that stands only 3 meter from PEA's pillar outside wall.

So a box is needed to connect the old cable with a new cable about 4m, through the concrete, in the soil and up to PEA meter on the pillar.

Is it possible to get PEA to accept a connection like that?

I have also heard that PEA say that the cable should be installed by someone they have approved. I don't know how this was made 15 years ago,

but I know that correct cable is used, it is covered with an approved tube and over that is concrete plates. Cablei is 60 cm below surface.

Can PEA accept that? I have phote of the tube that is used.

The reason for connecting to PEA is that I should like to sell energy and get some energy when batteries are not enough.

I don't know what equipment that is needed to sell energy. Is it needed an extra cable from my electric central which I heard someone say?

That should make it impossible for me.

I am greatfull for any information that can help me about this!

Can't see a problem why you can't connect your system to the grid as long as you already have the approved PEA inverters and connection setup.

Sometimes you can get PEA workers to do the job 'after hours' that can smooth the way.

The technical issues are going to be overshadowed by your location in a private village.

 

Unless you can get an agreement from the village to run your cables from the PEA pole (where PEA would install their import/export meter) to your property then it's going to be a non-starter.

 

PEA may well not agree to install a meter there anyway.

 

Do you really, really want all this hassle?

 

Why not be happy with the free energy you get currently, you can top up from your existing supply if necessary of course, it's exactly what we do.

 

 

EDIT A thought, since your village is a private network you may score by seeing if you can sell energy to the village. Suitable meters are reasonably readily available and, of course, export agreements will need to be put in place.

There is also the huge benefit available, that if you can sell to the PEA (something that is definitely not a foregone conclusion) you will get about ⅓ to ¼ of the price you pay for power from them. If you can sell to the local community you can double the price the PEA would pay you and still be selling at a lower than PEA price to your local community.

Possibly.

 

I am aware of gated communities which have PEA meters for each home, others have a private distribution system and bill the individual homes privately.

 

I've also heard of private communities which have been "adopted" by PEA so that everyone gets billed direct.

I must admit I just assumed this was the norm as it is what our village has and others I visited in the past.

In this instance I wonder if legally they can 'pull the plug' if common fees are not paid?

Why don't you ask PEA? Approved electrician by PEA. 🤔
