Immigration officers in Nakhon Pathom have arrested a Zimbabwean woman for overstaying her visa by nearly five months as part of a crackdown on crimes and visa violations.

On 22nd June, under the directive of Pol Lt Gen Panumas Boonyalak, immigration authorities in Nakhon Pathom, led by Pol Col Benjaphol Rodsawasde, intensified efforts to tackle crime, including firearms offences and outstanding warrants, as well as tracking visa overstayers.

The operation led to the arrest of Miss Shy Marebe, a 48-year-old Zimbabwean, found outside a rental property in Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom.

She had overstayed her student (ED PLUS) visa, which expired on 22nd January, by 147 days.

Marebe was charged with staying in the kingdom past the permitted period and will be processed according to legal procedures.

The nice thing about overstayers it reduces the crowds at the IO’s, though articles such as this bringing awareness will probably increase the crowds

I wonder how she was funding her stay...

With 48....what was she studying?

And where she was learning?
