A mask covers only your nose, mouth and chin. Those are exposed to the sunlight whether riding or not, so do you wear the mask always?

Bragging about "holding" your booze makes you out to be an alcoholic. It doesn't take strength, intelligence or will power to hold your booze. It takes drinking so much you think it actually doesn't affect you, while everyone else around you can notice. There are thousands pulled over every day who thought they could hold their booze. Some killed children or families, and some went to jail until they sobered up. Most everyone has drank a lot without thinking of what the outcome might be, but when you get older, you're supposed to be able to stop when you know you've had enough, so not to risk lives.

I read somewhere years ago that the common complaint about helmets in Thailand is it is too hot for them, whereas group think is the reason they keep masks on. Plus, smiling with a load of lies stuck in your teeth is poor form.

It's a fashion thing. People with less than good facial features in the lower part of the face prefer to hide it with a mask. Much like say wearing a loose shirt over your belly if you have a pot belly, wearing a loose skirt rather than tight jeans if your butt is going to pieces etc.
