In a shocking incident, a man in Thailand's Kamphaeng Phet province was arrested for allegedly shooting his sister-in-law over a meal disagreement.

Arsia, 42, was detained by police after being found drunk at the crime scene on June 22. The victim, Nittaya, aged 53, was tragically killed on her doorstep, suffering five gunshot wounds. Initially denying involvement, Arsia later confessed, admitting his outrage stemmed from his sister-in-law's meal choices for his 77-year-old mother, Kern.

Arsia accused Nittaya of serving only omelettes, claiming this reflected poorly on her care for his elderly mother. The family lived in close proximity, with Nittaya and her husband Plew, Arsia's brother, residing with Kern. Arsia lived separately with his father.

Despite Arsia's claims, his mother Kern described a different story, revealing that she preferred mild meals like omelettes and appreciated the variety Nittaya prepared. She highlighted that Arsia's separate living arrangement meant he was often unaware of their daily life.

Plew recounted that during a visit to their father's house, an argument escalated when Arsia threatened them over the food issue. Plew dismissed the threat as empty, a decision he now deeply regrets, believing it led to his wife's untimely death.

Nittaya, a mother of two from a previous marriage, had joined Plew at his family home only a year earlier. Plew expressed sorrow for involving her in family matters, lamenting the tragic consequences.

Before being taken to prison, Arsia begged his parents' forgiveness and pledged to take full responsibility. His father advised him to cooperate with the authorities, while Arsia promised to care for his parents post-incarceration.

This incident has sparked conversations about family dynamics and the impact of alcohol-fuelled decisions, leaving a grieving family to cope with the aftermath.
