A family returning to their Chiang Mai home stumbled upon a rare, two-headed snake, sparking astonishment among locals.

During a routine cleaning at their home in Hang Dong district, Phayao, the family found the unusual creature inside an old wardrobe. The snake, approximately 40 centimetres long with striking yellow and black markings, was discovered lifeless but still soft, suggesting it had died recently.

Wilai, a family member, was the first to spot the snake. Moving items around the wardrobe, she initially mistook it for an inanimate object. A closer inspection with a stick confirmed the snake's death, yet its most extraordinary feature was what caught everyone's attention—a pair of distinct heads, each resembling a cobra’s hood.

The discovery quickly became the talk of the neighbourhood. Residents gathered to see the peculiar find and many speculated about its significance. While some viewed it as a mere curiosity, others believed it might bring luck or serve as a sign of impending fortune for the family.

Such occurrences are exceedingly rare, often arousing interest due to their mythical or symbolic interpretations. This two-headed snake has certainly made an unforgettable mark on the close-knit community, blending surprise with a dash of local superstition.
