If only that were true. I've had to contend with a pool of sweat left by Thai men more than once over the years. Some of them train in sweat suits to induce sweating, even with low-intensity exercise.

My best solution has been my home gym for the last 12 years. None of the above problems, with lots of other advantages.

I've had just the opposite experiences, the Thais that attend my gym all take time to clean equipment, there's plenty of cleaning stations dotted around, had a problem once with an Italian who thought it was below himself to wipe a bench down, the young Thai lads soon put him right.

My gym is Mayan gym, 50bt a session

You don't, as you can use body weight in many exercises to stay in shape. A gym is good because of three things. You pay and you'll usually go, and when you go you'll see others working out and are motivated by that. Otherwise it's self motivation in another setting without others. Some will pay and never go but we're talking about those who want gains. two, a gym has everything you need to work al muscle groups, and safely if you use just machines. Three, it's air conditioned(usually) and it's easier to work out in that environment, especially with weights.

He's a troll. Don't bother.

5km walk is free and more enjoyable. Gyms are boring.

Walking and weight lifting are 2 different things.

If you dont lift weights, you will never truly be fit.

Indeed.  Weight training has been linked to an increased quality of life in old age, including less chance of mental degradation.

Walking is great, and everyone should be walking every day anyway, but you need to really get your heart rate up and lift weights.

Not really. You can move rocks around or do bodyweight exercises or use bands. You don't have to use weights. You could just walk around with a heavy backpack and do some lifts with that. Army guys are tougher than most and their training is nothing like normal gym exercises.

"You don't have to use weights, you can use things that work the same as weights."  Sure, I guess.  🤷‍♂️

Bands aren't going to do the same thing as weights though.  There's a certain amount of effort that you need to make to see the benefits.

Similarly, with body weight, the issue is that it's tricky to get the same range of movements and exercises that way.  You can do some pull ups, some press ups, etc.  The problem is that that's kind of limiting, and many aren't actually strong enough to do enough repetitions.

Weights are best.

How much do you deadlift?

What does that have to do with the facts I shared?

So you don't do the king of all lifts and have no idea about the science. Thanks for confirming.

Facts are facts.  If you want to ignore them, that's fine.  I just wanted others to know that weights are the best and have real health benefits for old age, both in terms of the body and the mind.

If you don't like that, I'm not really that bothered.

Elastic resistance bands induced slightly lower muscle activity in the muscles most people aim to activate during flyes and reverse flies, namely pectoralis major and deltoideus posterior, respectively. However, elastic resistance bands increased the muscle activation level substantially in perceived ancillary muscles, that is deltoideus anterior in flyes, and deltoideus medius and trapezius descendens in reverse flyes, possibly due to elastic bands being a more unstable resistance modality. Overall, the results show that elastic resistance bands can be considered a feasible alternative to dumbbells in flyes and reverse flyes.

You have no science, just myths. I just proved you wrong with science. You are a moron.

Do you perform "the king of all lifts" with rubber bands or with a bar with weights on?

You can combine the two for a better workout. Weights provide more tension at the bottom and bands at the top. You can do the same with bench press or other lifts. Chains can be used too. A former powerlifting champ uses bands and chains a lot.

Sounds like you use weights.  Thanks for proving my point.
