The Pheu Thai Party has announced a one-month postponement of the debate on the proposed casino-entertainment complex bill, originally set for discussion in the House on July 3. This delay aims to allow for further review and is not related to any political disagreements.

Danuporn Punnakanta, a Pheu Thai MP and spokesman, confirmed the bill's delay, highlighting its goal to enhance tourism infrastructure. The review will gather diverse opinions, addressing concerns like gambling accessibility for Thais and potential money laundering issues.

To address these concerns, Pheu Thai is collaborating with the Anti-Money Laundering Office. They aim to implement strong measures to prevent gambling addiction, drawing on international examples from Macau and Singapore.

Addressing speculation about a link between the delay and the Bhumjaithai Party's recent exit from the coalition, Danuporn explained that discussions have been held with Bhumjaithai MPs, and some support the bill.

In light of the delay, four political amnesty bills are scheduled for debate on July 9. The Pheu Thai Party is keen for these bills to promote national reconciliation. House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha has urged political collaboration on these amnesty proposals.

Pheu Thai has crafted its own amnesty bill to pardon political offenders, though it explicitly excludes those convicted under Section 112 of the Criminal Code, known as the lese majeste law. The party hopes these efforts will unite the nation and foster reconciliation.

More like delayed because PT doesn't have enough votes to get it passed.

PTP have found out that the senate isnot it's friend they have stated pass the bill and we will give you another court case to worry about.

Along with that if they propose a bill and lose then they leave themselves open to Bye Bye

Again, you are not going to make enough from just tourists at the complex, and getting a reputable operator to come in and design it is not going to happen with all the confusion and corruption in the government.

Most guys that would go to a casino have either a Thai wife or gf.  we know that there is no way those ladies are going to be willing to stay at home or wait outside teh casino while Farang goes andplays.  At this stage with the rules that is what would happen.

They want to implement measures to stop addiction, sorry addiction is never cured it's only put into remission until there is a relapse, by then the damage is done, can't see the government building rehab centers all over Thailand, the debt collectors will take care of the badly addicted by whatever force is deemed necessary
