If I just knew which one he was in, I could go say hi right now !

What makes you think that you'd be allowed to visit him as a complete unknown stranger?  Obviously, you're just virtue signaling because if you really were serious you'd be able to make half a dozen phone calls to tell the hospitals that you wanted to visit him.  Five would say, "never heard of that patient, one would confirm what you need to know.

If that was not successful a phone call to Wales Online would point you in the right direction butm ask yourself, in his condition who in their right mind would want a hospital visit from an anonymous Asean Now poster?

But that's not where the assault took place, do try and keep up please.

So where did the attack take place?

Why doesn’t Thailand require all tourists to carry travel insurance before they get a visa. If they show up without valid travel insurance they should be required to buy a policy on the spot or go home. Enough of these deadbeats.

Travel insurance is available on-the-spot at Thai immigration for coverage whilst in Thailand?   Which insurers offer that remarkable service?

To answer Liverpool Lou's question, "where did the attack take place".? Nobody seems keen to say.

I could not post in the conventional manner as every time I click on quote it doesn't want to know.

Is this a personal best for consecutive posts Lou.?

Maybe the original post is a clue?

Like that painted up, drug smuggling tart that the tabloids referred to as 'British Mum'.  No wonder the country is going down the toilet. These chavs and chavettes are being glorified and using their infamy for a gofundme that covers the cost of their next misadventure.

Who said he was clubbing, he's allowed to come here for a holiday, I think you're post is out of line, the poor man didn't deserve to be beaten to a coma

Everyone has to start somewhere and perhaps the competition will sharpen him up. Next thing you'll both be ringing the bell in LK.

Phuket and Pattaya.

Want to have a safe experience, never go near these places..

I hope that you are safe at home, close to where you were born...

That's the best place for you, checking all those other places on the globe, that cannot be safe, too far from your dwelling....

Nonsense I have been to Pattaya 17 times

Maybe he did deserve it. Has anyone you know been quietly minding their own business and beaten into a coma,?  Maybe he's one of those c u next Tuesdays who can't hold his liquor and likes to start trouble, like so many of his countrymen.

What is the balance of probabilities and how much can we put you down for on his gofundme?

10 hours ago, Liverpool Lou said:

Why shouldn't he be doing that?

Because he's touted as being a father.  Did your old man travel half way around the world to go clubbing when you were a kid?  Mine sure as hell didn't. He was a proper man who took his responsibilities seriously and wouldn't shame the family with that kind of behaviour.

No wonder you guys are being replaced with Muslims.

Spent ten years of my life in Pattaya.  Never a sniff of trouble.  Never met anyone that had a sniff of trouble.  How much time have you spent in Pattaya?

Sinical rubbish and racist

No details, no official source again.

Last time he was in a coma in a Chonburi city hospital, now he is out of a coma in a Pattaya hospital. In multiple stories, neither hospital was named.

How did the South Wales Argus get a quote from a British Foreign Office spokesperson?

This might be real, but it looks like a made-up clever begging scheme to me.

If you're old and not *cynical * you're not paying attention.

Brits are a nationality, not a race, so that arrow needs to be put back into the quiver and saved for another post.

Some of the comments here have swayed my view and I'm inclined to believe this incident is a hoax.

Tell that to the Irish or the Scottish or the Welsh I feel sorry for the poor guy but you are only slagging him, I hope his parents don't read your posts

Why every time the same story?

And why it happens all the time to Brits?

Of course we all wish a safe trip home as soon as possible.

"And why it happens all the time to Brits?"

I wonder as well.

Even given the number of British tourists relative to other nationalities is seem like Brits are in more than their share of these disaster stories.

United Kingdom: 121,529 tourists visited in January.

United States: 118,038 tourists in January.

Taiwan: 116,779 tourists in January.

Germany: 112,828 tourists in January.

France: 110,515 tourists in January.

What is the balance of probabilities is a good question.

Here on AN there are many people with years of experience in travel in Thailand.

I haven't seen anyone come forward and say "I was shopping for a 'Same, Same, Only Different' t-shirt and I was suddenly attacked and beaten unconscious".

It's possible this guy is father of the year but there is range of possibilities where he is more or less a bad actor.

Any stats on the break down of permanent residents?

I didn't consider that as it seems these stories are mostly concerning tourists.

I'll give you the "like so many of his countrymen"; could have stopped after "like so many"; no reason to make it about nationality.

But the questions Flaming-dragon asks are pertinent.

Why so many from all countries can party for years in Thailand with no trouble and some guys can't stay out of trouble for 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month - whatever short interval before finding trouble?

Is it just bad luck?

Father of the year comes to Thailand leaving his wife and kids back home?

Or wild and crazy guy comes to Thailand to demonstrate how partying is done?

I don't know the answer but it could be either or somewhere in between.

Distinct lack of detail in the whole story.

OK.  I was just curious as my experience in Pattaya is there are a lot more British expats than Yanks.  Not important just wondered
