VPN IN HH
I had bad experience with Nord. Not for Australia, but Austria. Even access a TV stream from Switzerland to Austria was not possible. Constant buffering and cutting out. And it was not the internet connection, that one was very fast. From Thailand....forget it. Better experience with Surfshark. No problem in Switzerland, not perfect but usable in Thailand (again to Europe). In general, VPN's are very easy detected now. My main TV Programm Provider does not load abroad. Using a VPN to watch Streaming Services like Prime in a choosen Country, no bueno. So, before I would commit to a long contract (they give the cheapest prices), I would take out a month and see if it actually works for what you want. -

Health Thailand Urges Action as HIV Cases Exceed 500,000
If this is true a half a million people out of a population of 68 million is a staggering number. There are a lot of medications that make life with HIV a lot easier than it used to be, I wonder if there's any government assistance for something like that.
