But the Democrats never promised to release the files. Clearly they were hiding their crimes. Lots of them.  But if the Republicans don't want to release the files now, despite their previous calls to release them, doesn't that mean that they are hiding something, too? That they were counting on the Dems not to release them?

I think nothing of interest will be released. Grand jury testimonies can not be released without a court order. I also don't think the grand jury testimonies will contain anything juicy.

Not so long ago, President Trump said that agricultural workers, hotel workers, and restaurant workers would be exempted from being taken by ICE. I and a few other denounced this move as a betrayal. Fortunately, after a few days, President Trump realized he had made a mistake and corrected course. But during that brief interval, most  of the people who called themselves MAGA supporters turned out to be worshippers of President Trump. They uncritically backed this reversal. President Trump can screw up.  He's human. And your kind of hero worship means that you really don't believe in the principles of MAGA. Rather, you believe that whatever President Trump says should be accepted uncritically with nonstop adulation. This checkers -3D chess thing is just so dumb and tired.
