A vicious attack has left a teenage cannabis shop worker in Pattaya terrified for his safety. Nineteen-year-old Ananda Klangnongsang was assaulted by machete-wielding assailants outside his workplace in Soi Kor Phai, South Pattaya, on the night of July 5.

CCTV footage captured part of the incident, now under investigation by Pattaya City Police. Ananda recounted how a gang of around seven men, known troublemakers from Sattahip, approached the shop, demanding to confront one of his friends.

“They shouted, ‘You think you’re tough?’ trying to lure me out,” Ananda explained. “I told them I just work here and didn’t want any trouble.”

Ignoring his pleas, the men dragged him outside, where they unleashed a brutal attack, pummeling him to the ground. One attacker brandished a machete, threatening his life. Desperate, Ananda attempted to defend himself with a fruit knife but was quickly overpowered.

The attack left Ananda with a broken nose, swollen eye socket, and a deep forehead cut. His injuries were so severe that he couldn’t open one eye.

“These guys are known thugs in Sattahip,” Ananda said, expressing fear for his safety. “I can’t go back to work, and I’m worried about what they might do next.”

He suspects the violence stemmed from a grudge involving a former shop intern, Jack, who wasn’t hired permanently. When a friend of Ananda's got the job instead, tensions flared. Jack allegedly began sending threatening messages, accusing Ananda of taking sides, culminating in the violent confrontation.

The police have accepted Ananda's complaint and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers. Ananda is urgently calling for their arrest to ensure his safety.

This shocking incident highlights ongoing concerns about gang violence in Pattaya, leaving residents calling for increased security measures. The community is watching closely as the investigation unfolds, hoping swift justice will be served in this troubling case.
