It appears that in so called religious businesses throughout the world the embezzlement, organised buggery, human trafficking, abuse of innocent children knows no abounds.

In other words they are fronts for organised crime and should be completely banned.

Maybe a little off topic, but what about prostitution? If there was no prostitution, just think of how many rapes there would be, all these fat, ugly, big titted guys would need to get their pleasure in some ways.

That is a very good reason why there should be legalised brothels in every country.

My abstaining from sex is not solely by my own choice.

So Golf's "body count" is at least 8 that we are aware of.

That's because it's not natural to try to go through life abstaining completely from sex. Time for the fake facade to come down once and for all and stop expecting human beings to be saints.

I blame the wokeness of permitting them to wear frocks.

What about Scotsmen? :cheesy::cheesy:

Why should monks be celibate?

I always understood the Catholic church imposed celibacy as a way to avoid any additional costs of priests having wives, but monks?

Priests and monks have a penis and nuns have a clitoris, and pretending to live while ignoring the presence of these vital human organs is pure nonsense. :coffee1:

Absolutely!  And in my humble opinion, the lack of brothels encourages alcoholism . . .  :burp:

I would rather skirt around that subject......

My Thai in-laws were born and raised in a village near Ayutthaya.  I've been there for tamboon for the mother and remembrance for the father, who emigrated from China before WW2.

In the last 18 years a new temple has not been completed.  The abbot is said to have at least two common law wives which he provides with housing, food, and more.  I've asked his monks when the temple will be finished.  One even rolled his eyes.  Family living there say they donate less and less to this abbot.  My Chinese sister-in-law has a stepson who takes drugs, does not work, and will join the monk hood for a few months as a breather.  Then go back to drug use and goofing off.  He set his stepmother's house on fire and is in jail now.

The Chinese father had two wives, one from China and one in Thailand.  He had 15 children with them.  My wife is the baby at age 79.  She has one surviving brother and two surviving sisters.

There are about 300,000 monks in Thailand and up to 85,000 novices and those numbers fluctuate.  That 410 Billion baht owned by abbots, monks, and the support structure is one scandal.  We'll say a conservative $12 Billion U.S. dollars.

I've been married 53 years.  We have five adult children, all married, and 12 grandchildren aged 13 to 30.

Buddhism does some good in Thailand overall but the corruption is intense.

Does a commitment to celibacy preclude having a " quick one off the wrist"?

Rape and murder are completely natural. That doesn't mean that they are positive or desirable things.

Something simply being "natural" does not mean someone cannot try to prevent its occurrence.

So instinct is more powerful than superstition?

Who could have guessed!

Yes, I know..."It's a philosophy, not a religion".  No, like all faiths and beliefs systems, it's based on a failure or unwillingness to accept reality, and instead make up a fantasy or pretend folks who didn't even know the Earth was round had some special "wisdom".

As for Golf, spend your money wisely. Your attractiveness has a window of opportunity that will shut with time. THAT is life, not the mumbo jumbo liars or lunatics make up.

The sole actual truth ever uttered by any faith or belief system was this: ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Don't make it more than it is, and enjoy it will it lasts.

For a good time, call Golf at 555-1212.
