Looking for feedback please.

I had a email today from Wise asking me to confirm my residential address on your Wise account. You'll need to confirm the residential address on your Wise account.

To confirm my address, I had to tap on the red square in my wise app or log in to your account .

I log into my app on my mobile clicked on the red banner,

Wise them asked me to input my UK post code, then a drop-down menu I had to select my home address which I did.

Then a message popped up saying all DONE thank you, if we need any  documents we be in touch.

My question is wise haven't ask for any proof or documents to

confirm the residential address, have anyone had the same experience ?.

They do a credit check which lists all your UK address since 1990.

The DWP also view my credit check details 2x a year. If to have a UK bank app, you can usually view your credit check, and it gives lists of who looked at it.

Legally they are obligated to have a proof of address for every customer.

I had to provide proof of address in Thailand when opening the account.

I used a letter from the German state pension office.

Letter from company pension/payroll was not good enough.

Go on, show us how it's done please. I cannot find it on any of my 4 UK Banking Apps.

I was just a little surprised/confused why Wise didn't ask for any documents to confirm my address. just a click of red banner and that's it, unless Wise going to ask for confirmation documents in due course.

If it was different from the one presently registered, they may ask for further proof.

Are you talking about Credit Score ?

BritMan2 said Credit CHECK. Never on any of my UK Banking Apps, is there the ability to see which companies have accessed your account in the past. I get emails from Experian and others, telling me that my Credit Check/Score has changed, last time from 995 to 997, but need work to get to it.

Is there a difference between check and score.

If there is it's only nitpicking.

I guess check is looking, and score is what you're reading when looking.

You don't even need to be a Natwest customer to use it.

Please, nobody quote me, I'll help you all with the link, but don't want him to see it.

Yeah, I don’t think there’s any difference between Score/Check/Rating etc, just wanted to clarify, and yes as a NatWest customer I can access my credit score.

What is annoying is the different scales used in the U.K..

But I guess if wanting to rent in the U.K. then a simple pulling up your credit score from your banking app should give you the yes/no answer.

Apparently being on the Electoral Register can improve your credit rating, who knew ?

Apologies for drifting off topic, but the ability to see your credit score within seconds from your banking app can surely help if required.

Especially to those of us who, like myself, don't have a UK postcode these days!

And you are not mine any more...IGNORE!

It was your answer to my question regarding finding who has been looking at my Credit Score/ Check, "NOT MY PROBLEM", which warrantied the Thumb Down, and a Report to Mods.

Then you go and put this, presumably meaning ME!

"Please, nobody quote me, I'll help you all with the link, but don't want him to see it."

Bitsamp (a crypto trading platform) has challenged me to show proof of my address in TH on a regular basis (every 1.5 years). I have uploaded bank statements where said address is visible and that has been accepted up to now.

It’s just another reminder of the importance of having some sort of address and phone number in your passport country.

So , if your address changed from say the UK to Thailand , would that be a problem for Wise ?

Posted

I opened my Wise account when they were TW and used my Thai residential address. No hassle at all until I moved down the road a few km, and tried to change my residential address on my Wise acc.

To do this you have to show proof of address, so I scanned the same change of addess form that Thai Imm accepted and stamped.

Wise refused to change my address, despite "Official Government docs" being listed as one acceptable means.

I have tried several times, and received only rude template email responses.

So my Wise account still shows the old WRONG address, and so I no longer trust or use Wise.

Take note.

Who do you use now for your transfers ?

My Wise account still functions fine, but I already moved my funds here using Wise  before this hassle occurred.

Wise are clearly not trustworthy in my experience.

If you have to report an answer like "NOY MY PROBLEM", you have some issues.
