I'm sure the local shops will do over the phone orders. Meet up at 7-11 like the old days.

In Phuket, shops are open. Nothing has changed. No prescription needed. No enforcement reported. Zero arrests of buyers reported. Buy whatever you want, including hash. Prices have gone up. Right now, this is looking like BS and a way to get more manilla envelopes. There have been reports that enforcement will not change unless someone is making trouble, a store is not paying graft, or a buyer is storing dealer levels (100+ grams).

Where does that amount come from? 100+ grams isn't dealer level. That's a 3 month supply for many regular users.

Chat GPT reporting from many online-discussion sources from last week, including discussions with shop owners and insiders. What I can tell you with my own eyes is shops are open as normal in Phuket. I could walk out with half a pound and they wouldn't care. But, the cost is through the roof. 500 baht for 1 gram of mid-tier.

The big flashy weed shops in Bangkok along Sukhumvit, and in other tourist areas like Silom, have been charging no less than 600 to 900 Baht per gram for the last couple of years, and that has not changed. Whether it is mid-tier or top-tier is anyone’s guess. If you head out to non-tourist areas in Bangkok, you can get decent stuff for around 100-200 Baht a gram, but even that is still pricey. Online prices are still averaging 20 to 30 Baht a gram (or less) for quality gear, with some of it even being indoor grown.

Phuket has always been overpriced. For the last 15 to 20 years, even something as simple as a plate of chicken fried rice has been close to US prices. If the tourist shops in Phuket are jacking up weed prices even more now, it is just Phuket doing what Phuket always does.

At any rate, I feel much less alarmed about the changes than I was last week. It may all be mostly BS, unless you are flaunting and being reckless. No arrests of buyers reported, as far as I know.

I agree. Just get your stuff and do your thing at home, and in private, and you should be fine.

Are you aware of anybody who has been in possession when searched at a police checkpoint, and what was the outcome?

No, I am not. But GPT said: if you want to travel with it, keep it under 10 grams and have a prescription. You don't want to get caught on the road with 50 grams. The prescription and low amount makes you cop proof.

One reason I never travel or live where there are foreigners here much cheaper, better quality and most of all no foreigners much less stress on the local environment. As far as weed go every shop I have contacted NOTHING has changed. Like I said Dr. Doom Health Minister has been very quiet lately. Days are numbered?

If you live in a condo and keep weed in your apartment, I think it is a good idea to get a medical certificate. Most condos now have rules against smoking cannabis or even keeping it on the premises. If a neighbor were to file a complaint with the condo management or the police, you would at least have proof that you are a medical cannabis user. In my view, anyone who can get a certificate should do so. Things in Thailand always seem to get more complicated and involve more hassle over time, so even if the laws remain loose, it is better to be prepared for whatever comes next.

It's always about money and power. There is no doom. There is only wanting to take away profits. Now more backlash.

At this very moment my home is full of air pollution not weed smoke once again and millions of others like myself suffer because of it. Maybe focus on the REAL issues not weed.

If I choose to use cannabis medically, I'll get a prescription.  Easy breezy.  I stopped using it recreationally just like I stopped drinking.  Not due to any problem with either (unlike bob smith), but as I've gotten older, I simply prefer not being under the influence.  I don't necessarily like the feeling anymore.  Trust me. I've had my fun with recreational chemicals and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience - I just don't care for them any longer.  The ageing body - sh*t changes and you adapt. Personally I don't want to see any restrictions on the sale of cannabis other than an age limit and restrictions regarding where you can consume it, just like alcohol.  And speaking of alcohol, I'd like to see those stupid lamebrained restrictions of the sale between 2pm to 5pm done away with.  Young people like to party at night.  Old retired geezers like to have a beer in the afternoon and read a paper or a book - which was usually between 2pm to 5pm.  A lot of bars would just sell it, and when the cops tried enforcement it was Guinness in a coffee cup.  I'm in bed by the time the youngsters are just getting started.

What about all the prostitutes in Thailand??? Would you have them regulated too?

For anyone unfamiliar with what a standard P.T.33 medical cannabis certificate/prescription form looks like, see the sample form below.

This example is in English, but many versions are entirely in Thai, often with the form number also in Thai appearing at the top right. Regardless of the language, all forms serve the same purpose. While this specific form was likely designed with foreigners in mind, most cannabis users in Thailand are Thai nationals, so the majority of forms are issued in Thai.

I’ve obtained both a medical cannabis card and a certificate/prescription myself from a clinic which is all in Thai, though I haven’t yet used it to purchase cannabis, as I still have an adequate supply that I purchased before the laws changed. However, I wanted to have the document on hand in case I’m ever questioned about my cannabis use by authorities or the building management where I reside.

For personal convenience, I’ve taken a photo of both my medical cannabis patient card (which includes my photo) and my certificate/prescription, and I keep them both in my phone for easy access. I don’t plan on renewing my medical certificate every 30 days as indicated, but rather every 60–90 days.

When I carry cannabis outside, I make sure to never have more than about 10 grams total on me at any given time. While it’s possible that these precautions may not be necessary in the future, I’m just playing it safe for now.

I don't see the connection, as many people can do both; use cannabis while also doing some good in the world. Plus many cannabis users don't smoke it to consume it. I for one don't.

This topic is also about legal medical cannabis use and not about quitting, so you're off-topic. There are other discussions about quitting cannabis that might be a better fit for your viewpoint.
