Police raided a well-known entertainment venue in Bangkok’s Wang Thonglang district early in 18 July, arresting 40 individuals, including Thai and foreign nationals and seizing drugs, firearms and ammunition in what authorities described as a successful anti-drug operation.

A new survey reveals most Thais believe some Buddhist monks have strayed from their spiritual path and should face consequences. Conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration between July 14 and 16, the poll sampled 1,310 Buddhists nationwide.

Delivery Rider Found Strangled in Rayong – Suspected Robbery

A 23-year-old delivery rider was found murdered by the roadside in Pluak Daeng district, Rayong province, in what police believe was a robbery gone wrong. The victim’s heavily pregnant wife had spent the entire night searching for him after he failed to return home from work.

A long-tail boat capsized in the Ratchaprapa Dam, Surat Thani, yesterday, claiming the life of a tour guide while 16 foreign tourists and the captain miraculously survived. The accident occurred around 11 a.m. amid strong waves, according to Provincial Tourist Police.

Wild Elephant Rescued from Farm Pond in Chumphon Province

A rescue operation unfolded in the hills of Chumphon, when a wild elephant became trapped in a large agricultural reservoir. The 40-year-old bull elephant, known to locals as “Jao Duan Hoo Dang” or “Plai Rungthiwa,” was successfully helped out of the eight-metre-deep water after an hours-long effort by wildlife officers and local authorities.

Fishing Boat Capsizes in Storm off Rayong Coast – Crew Rescued

Six fishermen were rescued from the sea after their crab trap fishing boat capsized amid strong winds and towering waves off the coast of Rayong on the morning of 20 July. The crew survived by clinging to floating debris and were rescued just in time by nearby vessels.
