A man dancing around in a string bikini?  I thought that was an occupation reserved for Thai ladyboys.

Can someone tell me... When did the law change to make it illegal to wear a bikini outside?

Is that the one the Indians were complaining about to the police?

To be honest I'm with them....they were conned.

A 62-year-old Japanese man was fined after cosplaying in a bikini and dancing in Hat Yai streets, claiming it was for his YouTube channel.

Police in Hatyai have apprehended a 62-year-old Japanese national, known as Mr. Yasuda, for public indecency. Earlier sightings depicted him in a cosplay bikini, driving a motorcycle around Hatyai while dancing provocatively. His antics were widely shared on social media, prompting both criticism and curiosity about his identity.

On July 20, Mr. Yasuda turned himself in to the police following a search launched due to his unsuitable behaviour, which was considered lewd. Riding a rented motorcycle, Yasuda’s actions had been flagged by local authorities.

The rental agency reached out to him, prompting him to voluntarily appear at the police station.

Having resided in Hatyai for about a decade, Mr. Yasuda speaks Thai fluently. He explained that his eccentric display was part of his YouTuber persona, boasting over 2,000 followers.

He admitted that his choice of attire was driven by the hot weather, acknowledged the inappropriateness of his actions, and offered an apology for any offence caused.

The police charged him with public indecency and fined him 5,000 baht. Despite the incident, Mr. Yasuda holds a valid visa and passport and was subsequently released.

yeah, because weed always makes me want to get my tits out

I would guess the bottom half of his bikini was not enough to conceal his private parts.

Thailand's Got Talent will be in his future...

Thankfully, because Malaysians stand a chance of being drug tested on return to Malaysia we don't have than many ganja shops in town.

Wrong city, no go-go bars/clubs in Hat Yai, and our walking street is for walking, shopping and eating.

2000 is enough to be monetized.  So he's on his way to early retirement, and news like this, just makes it easier for him.   Probably why he turned himself in.  WIN WIN for him 👍

Yep, it's good publicity, well worth the Bht5,000.

The law didn't change - Public Indecency laws have remained in place....

IF you chose to walk down the street in central Bangkok in Speedo's (brief swimming-trunks) you might be found guilty of the same public indecency....     however, wear a bikini on a beach in Phuket and you'll be fine.

The law isn't about specific attire, its about 'indecency' - and that involves, location and timing...  its hardly nuanced.
