If you read the Cambodian media, they tell a story that's the opposite of what you read in the Thai media.
The truth isn't just on one side.

You have to see both sides of the story...

Out of interest what does the Cambodian media say. "You have to see both sides of the story..." Yes Peal Harbour, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway.

The "truth" is subjective like with many other topics... just simply what you think to be okay/right or wrong etc. but it doesn't make you right or wrong either way, need evidence which is usually hard to find.

It's the same with things like music or beauty.... there is no such thing as good or bad music, it's just music. It just depends on what you think is good music or not... same goes for beauty and fashion and a whole load of other stuff. Just what you think is good or bad/right or wrong.

Yesterday I asked the the Mrs how far from Hua Hin' to the nearest Cambodian' border.. she said Oh! its very very far good job we moved from Chiang Mai that is very close.

Turns out its 110 km 69 miles by sea drone or cruise missile so hoping the F16 pilots had a different geography teacher to us.🤔

Having just pointed this fact out to her she said don't worry there are far to many Farang's here to get bombed there would be international outcry ... conversation over 🤔

Border dispute won't really escalate into all out conflict/war. Unless someone on either side wants it to. A certain Thai politician being one of them. A lot of profit in war if you know the right people..

hmmmm let't think. Which current dispute filling the news is going on to divert attention from an unpopular leader?

this is all down to the military trying to take over the government again and justifying a coup....or disguising a coup.

I'm 90% sure of that too. This was pre-planned, a manufactured crisis to enable an eventual coup. The demand by the People's Party (formerly Move Forward) to disolve parliament and call an election is, in my view, the only way to head off the ultra-conservatives' plan for a coup and more right-wing dictatorship in Thailand. But there are rumblings that Thaksin may be trying to do yet another deal with the conservatives to avoid an election (which PT Party would clearly lose, but so would the conservatives).

Cambodian President Hun Sen did travel to China last week.

Reports indicate that he boarded a private jet from Phnom Penh en route to China following a military escalation involving Cambodia and Thailand.

???????

It was on Thai TV most of the day that we went to China, what was he doing, after some big things that bang, a bit more modern than the Soviet era thing they have.

China will say, OK we will be opening a few more factories in your country?

Sure it wasn't opening a few more scam centres?

This incident is not going to please TAT, I think they will have to review there tourism figures and expected income.

Probably, although I retired before drones came in.

Good old fashioned observation techniques could probably locate a BM21 launcher within a couple of minutes of it being fired - two or better three OPs getting bearings on the flash or smoke from it being fired would produce a target location If they are ready they should be able to get fire on them in a matter of minutes - catch them as they were coming out of action. That of course depends on good well practised artillery techniques!

The launchers are pretty well limited to surfaced roads, especially in the rainy season. Again, a good OP plan, effective air surveillance (drone and manned aircraft) and even covert deep recce patrols will go a long way towards making their operations and movement difficult, they take a bit of time to get accurate survey, both for orientation and fix to ensure any accuracy especially if the GPS coverage is turned off or jammed - so use that time to find them. Of course it all depends on if the Thais have the stomach and capability for that.

That or just fly in an F16? Simpler?

There is one person responsible for this mess. If he was in prison where he should be none of this would have ever happened besides numerous other things.

I’m waiting for someone to blame Trump.

From the BBC  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg5gz03d8no

"Cambodia, for its part, accused Thailand of using cluster munitions. Cluster munitions are banned in much of the world because of their indiscriminate effect on civilian populations." Says the country using Land mines.

I would suggest everyone on both sides chill and look at why this issue happened to be stirred up now.

I look at the BBC as an outlet for the opinion of the UK deep state. And they are encouraging escalation with these accusations of Thailand using cluster munitions.

I know a lot of UK Expats love Thailand, but there is a case to be made that the UK is behind stirring up a lot of crap internationally.  Ukraine/Russia, Israel/Iran, India/Pakistan, and here?

Questions need to be asked.  Why now?  Cui bono?
