Municipal Officers Accused Of Beating Man

A photographer who wanders around beer bars came into the Pattaya Police station at half past midnight on 10th August to make a report of being brutally beaten up by Pattaya City Hall municipal officers in public and he wished to press charges on them for injuring him.

Mr. Wan Phatmot, aged 27, explained that earlier that night he was walking around Beach Road Soi 1 to find tourists that wanted their photos taken in beer bars. Four municipal officers came along in a red Ford pickup truck, and chased him into a corner and then beat him up. That was not enough; one of them used a cane to hit him numerous times on the head.

They then took him on the truck to City Hall to wash his head and demanded money from him. He did not have any so they told him not to tell anyone and drove him out to Tiffany Theatre where they let him go.

Further investigation is on going.
