In a distressing revelation, a 40-year-old saleswoman found herself bereft of her car and belongings after a shocking theft at a hotel in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. The incident, which occurred on 2nd August, involved a thief who managed to steal the vehicle and valuables worth 50,000 baht in a mere 11 minutes.

Naphisara Monyao, hailing from Ang Thong, shared her ordeal on social media, describing the theft of her distinctive black Toyota Yaris. The car, unique due to its missing rear license plate and a Luang Por Guay talisman affixed to its rear window, was parked at the hotel when the theft took place at 11.25pm.

The saleswoman, who is also a passionate marathon runner, depended heavily on her vehicle for both work commitments and participation in running events around Thailand. On the fateful night, she had travelled from Nonthaburi to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, preparing to meet friends for a morning run. After checking into the hotel at around 7.40pm, she discovered her car missing when she ventured out at 4.20am the next day.

Crucially, the hotel's CCTV captured footage of the thief, a man with a noticeable limp dressed in a white jacket. At 11.20pm, he entered the alleyway adjacent to the hotel, feigning a phone conversation, before approaching Naphisara’s car. The footage shows him lingering at the vehicle’s rear for three minutes before accessing the driver’s side, starting the car, and driving away in the direction of Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon—all within just 11 minutes.

Naphisara expressed profound grief over the loss, describing the car as an integral part of her life. Beyond serving her professional needs, it enabled her active participation in national marathon events. Particularly painful was the loss of personal items, including three pairs of valuable running shoes worth 23,700 baht and other running gear. Her missing wallet contained crucial personal documents, a prepaid fuel card, and various personal effects, collectively exceeding 50,000 baht in value.

In response to the theft, a report was promptly filed with the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station. Local law enforcement is vigorously examining the CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator and has reached out to the public for assistance. Anyone with pertinent information regarding the vehicle or the suspect is urged to contact their nearest police station or report via Facebook.

The shocking speed and efficiency of the theft have drawn community attention, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and secure parking measures. Residents have voiced concerns over safety, urging hotels and local businesses to enhance security protocols to prevent similar occurrences.

For Naphisara, the impact of this incident transcends material loss. It serves as a stark reminder of life's unpredictability and the importance of community support in times of crisis. Friends and fellow runners have rallied around her, offering moral and practical support as she navigates this challenging period.

As the investigation continues, the community remains hopeful that justice will be served swiftly and Naphisara’s possessions, particularly her cherished car, will be recovered. The incident not only underscores vulnerabilities in everyday security but also the resilience and solidarity that surfaces in the face of adversity.
