In a shocking incident near Bangkok, a 16-year-old Thai boy and his friends surrendered to police after a violent altercation led to the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old.

Yesterday, police responded to a scene in Nonthaburi province where a tragic attack resulted in the death of a 15-year-old identified as Surawut, known as “Tar.” The incident unfolded on a road between Soi Bang Si Mueang 20 and 24, with Tar found severely wounded and stripped as part of an apparent act of humiliation.

Tar was discovered wearing a T-shirt and trousers, the latter pulled down, and had suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest, losing a significant amount of blood. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before help could arrive. A knife, approximately ten inches long, was retrieved about 100 metres from his body, and two motorcycles were discovered nearby, indicating a possible hurried escape attempt.

Further tragedy struck as Tar's friend, 15-year-old Wit, sustained a cut to his wrist, and another companion, identified as Q, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Both were promptly taken to hospital, although their current conditions have not been revealed.

CCTV footage, crucial to the investigation, captured Tar and his friends desperately fleeing from a group of attackers around 2:20 am. After a motorcycle mishap, Tar was caught and fatally assaulted.

The 16-year-old suspect, along with four accomplices, later turned themselves in at Bang Si Mueang Police Station. Reports reveal that the accused confessed to the stabbing, citing a dispute stemming from jealousy and a love triangle as the catalyst for this tragic outcome.

Police investigations have unravelled a more complex narrative involving numerous teenagers. At least 21 were implicated in the incident, with thirteen already questioned. The remaining suspects are still being sought by the authorities.

The hostility reportedly began on social media, escalating when female friends from both groups clashed online. A face-to-face meeting was arranged to resolve the tensions. However, an accidental encounter later that night reignited the confrontation, swiftly turning into a deadly assault.

As things stand, formal charges have not yet been imposed. The police plan a thorough examination of all involved through a multidisciplinary approach to ensure a comprehensive understanding and resolution of this disturbing case.

This tragic incident has not only highlighted the dangers of unchecked youth violence but also the dire consequences of conflicts ignited through social media. As investigations continue, the community remains in shock, grappling with the senseless loss and the sobering realities it unearths.
