In a chilling revelation, a 33-year-old Thai man named Tarn surrendered to the police today, confessing to killing his mother two weeks ago. He admitted to concealing her body in a bathtub filled with cement, sparking shock and disbelief across Bangkok.

The dramatic turn of events unfolded at Romklao Police Station in Bangkok's Lat Krabang district. Officers dispatched to Tarn's home in Soi Romklao 27 were met with a strong, unpleasant odour emanating from the bathroom. On investigation, they discovered a bathtub encased in cement, under which Tarn revealed lay his mother's body.

The victim, identified as 73-year-old Worranan, was allegedly strangled by Tarn. His shocking reason for the crime was reported as his frustration with her frequent complaints. This appalling act has raised questions about Tarn's mental state, as several media outlets have highlighted his history of mental illness.

Authorities quickly sought assistance from rescue teams, including the Rom Sai and Ruam Katanyu Foundations, to retrieve Worranan's body. Reports suggest that before pouring cement, Tarn filled the bathtub with clothing, creating an additional challenge for those tasked with recovering her remains.

Currently in police custody, Tarn is undergoing further questioning and a medical evaluation to assess his mental health. This gruesome incident has left the local community in shock, and many are calling for greater awareness and support for individuals struggling with mental health issues.

As the investigation continues, authorities are piecing together the events leading up to this tragedy. Tarn's confession has brought a tragic family secret into the public eye, illustrating the devastating consequences of untreated mental health problems.

This harrowing case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the need for accessible support systems. As more details emerge, the community remains on edge, reflecting on the impact of this unsettling event.

The broader dialogue now centres on ensuring such tragedies can be prevented, bringing crucial attention to mental well-being across Thailand. Stay with us for the latest updates on this ongoing investigation.
