Bangkok Metropolitan Police Division 9 have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting his wife’s alleged new lover in a fit of jealousy outside an apartment building in Thung Khru district.

The suspect, identified only as Mr. Te, was apprehended by officers from Thung Khru Police Station, Division 9 investigators, and local police in Khun Han district, Sisaket province. He was detained under an arrest warrant issued by Thonburi Criminal Court (No. 750/2568) on charges of murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and carrying a weapon in public without justification.

The arrest followed a violent incident in which the suspect allegedly opened fire on a man he believed to be romantically involved with his wife. According to investigators, the victim had just dropped the woman off at her apartment when Mr. Te appeared and in a fit of rage, fired seven rounds at the man, killing him at the scene.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled Bangkok and went into hiding in his hometown in Sisaket. Officers from the Crime Suppression Division, Bangkok Metropolitan Police and Khun Han Police coordinated efforts to track him down.

The arrest operation was led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Komsit Rangsai, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, along with Pol. Col. Teerachai Detkard, Deputy Commander and senior officers from Thung Khru Police Station.

Mr. Te is now in police custody and has been transferred to Thung Khru Police Station for questioning and legal proceedings. Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed, depending on further evidence.
