I also know there's a reason that law libraries are chock full of books of case law that makes a layman's reading of the text of the constitution inadequate to understand the laws. Are you familiar with the extra powers afforded to CBP within 100 miles of the US border (including shorelines)? I became familiar back in the '80s when I worked in South Texas. Long before Trump. You can also get a feel for their extra powers when you land at an international airport and insist they need some kind of reasonable suspicion that you've done something wrong to detain you, search your stuff and even confiscate your money (under civil forfeiture). Bad news... They don't. And that precedes Trump by decades, too. As I said. They're getting the due process they're entitled to. Just because the lefties (and even I) think they deserve more doesn't make it so. -
