A man shot his former girlfriend dead inside a coffee shop at a petrol station before taking his own life, after a failed attempt to reconcile their relationship.

The incident occurred on 12 August in Bueng Sam Phan district, Phetchabun. Police, accompanied by a duty doctor and Sawang Bueng Sam Phan rescue workers, arrived at the scene to find two bodies inside the café.

The gunman, identified as Mr. Khai, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the right temple from a homemade firearm, which lay beside him. Nearby, the body of Ms. Pi, 20, a café employee, was discovered with gunshot wounds.

Witnesses told police that the suspect had been waiting outside the shop for his ex-girlfriend, who had recently ended their relationship due to repeated physical abuse. When she refused to come out, he entered the café, shot her once, then paced calmly around before returning to fire a second shot. He then turned the gun on himself.

Police have classified the case as a murder–suicide and will conduct further investigations into the suspect’s background and mental state.
