Senator Under Fire for Allegedly Plundering Corpse Faces Probe

A senator is now under investigation after being accused of stealing valuables from the body of a car crash victim in 2021. CCTV footage showed him and another man at the crash site on the Bang Na Expressway, where items—including phones, a Louis Vuitton bag, a gold necklace, and cash—went missing. The senator confessed to taking some items, returning only the bag and one phone. Though the case is ongoing, the Election Commission says he can remain in office, but the Senate ethics committee may still assess whether his conduct breaches professional standards.
