Officers found a bus from Phitsanulok that had skidded off the road into the central reservation. The vehicle was transporting 40 students and three teachers from a Phitsanulok school on an excursion to Phayao province.

The driver, identified as Mr Ekalak, was unhurt. Two female students suffered injuries and were treated at the scene by rescue workers before being taken for further checks.

Initial enquiries suggest the driver lost control of the bus shortly before the junction. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
