Two schoolgirls were injured when a bus carrying 40 pupils overturned into a central reservation in Uttaradit province on the morning of 21 August.

Police from Nam Ang station received reports of the crash at around 09:00 and attended the scene with local rescue volunteers from Wat Mon Mai. The crash occurred on Highway 11, northbound, near Ban Rai junction in Nam Ang subdistrict, Tron district.

Officers found a bus from Phitsanulok that had skidded off the road into the central reservation. The vehicle was transporting 40 students and three teachers from a Phitsanulok school on an excursion to Phayao province.

The driver, identified as Mr Ekalak, was unhurt. Two female students suffered injuries and were treated at the scene by rescue workers before being taken for further checks.

Initial enquiries suggest the driver lost control of the bus shortly before the junction. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
