Officials in Bang Lamung District have arrested two men from Bang Saen for allegedly selling methamphetamine and crystal meth, following an undercover operation.

At 23:30 on 21 August, Mr Patcharapath Srithanyanont, District Chief of Bang Lamung, ordered Mr Kamphrai Laosaen, the district’s security officer and Narcotics Suppression official, to lead a combined force of local administrative officers and territorial volunteers in a sting operation. The investigation followed tips from previously arrested drug users identifying a group from Bang Saen as local suppliers.

Authorities arranged for an undercover agent to purchase 5 grams of ice for 2,000 baht, with the handover scheduled at a daily rental room in Nong Prue. Security forces established a perimeter, blocking escape routes with official vehicles.

Shortly afterwards, the suspects arrived at the meeting point. When they handed over the drugs, officers moved in to arrest them. One suspect attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended along with his accomplice.

The suspects were later identified as Mr Khom, 37, who was found with 3.1 grams of ice and the 2,000 baht used in the sting and Mr Chaiwat Hommala, 31, who had 2.4 grams of ice in two plastic bags and three methamphetamine pills in his pocket.

Both men reportedly confessed that the drugs belonged to them. They were formally arrested and taken, along with the seized substances, to Bang Lamung Police Station to face charges of possession and distribution of Category 1 narcotics under the law.

This did not work with the Chinese kidnap gang.
