Ive been living in Thailand for 12 years. Many years ago I contacted the legendary moderator named 'Ubon Joe' who was a visa specialist on the url:   thaivisa.com

As you probably know, he sadly died 2.5 years ago. Thanks to his advice I will be getting Thai citizenship in the next few years.

The reason I originally contacted him was that I wanted to get Thai Citizenship. I was married and had a small business with my wife but we didn't have a company structure. When we first started our business my wife and I didn't want to start a limited company and register for VAT. We first wanted to see if our business would be successful.

Anyways, with Joe's help we came up with a plan which is discussed in the attached video.

I successfully obtained the WP and have used this WP to be accepted in the Thai Citizenship program. I will also be doing a video about tips for applying for Thai citizenship, on the basis of marriage to a Thai national, in the next few months.

I think many expats married to Thai nationals will find this video useful. Most visa agents, attorneys and youtubers think that its only possible to get a WP via a company structure and this is not the case in the context of being married to a Thai.

Thanks for watching on your tube channel. Click on the bottom left corner.

Joe was the man, dedicated to helping anyone, what ever their circumstances.

Sorely missed.......😢

I knew Joe.

Just watched most of the video. There's a lot of detail in there.

I agree that most folks will not know about this way of applying. It will help a lot of guys married to Thai ladies who want to get a Work permit in Thailand.

Thanks for sharing. Haven't heard of this before! Good to know. Does the wife's business need to employ one other foreigner in addition or does the lack of a ltd company mean this isn't required?

With a company, the ratio is generally 4-Thais employed per foreigner-hire - though if the wife's business, only need 2 Thai employees to qualify.  That said, local labor-offices can act differently.  I am also curious if this was the rule in his case, with his wife's non-incorporated business.

They didnt specify to us at the time but we had 4 anyway bc our business was busy. I think its only 2 required in this case.
