A 62-year-old retired auxiliary police officer was seriously injured after shooting himself in the head at a temple in Samut Prakan, following allegations of attempted sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl. Authorities also discovered a suicide note at his residence.

At around 07:00 on 23 August, police from Phra Samut Chedi District were alerted to a gunshot victim in the garden area of Wat Yai Bang Plakod, Soi Suksawat 100, Moo 3, Naikhlong Bang Plakod. Officers, including investigative and forensic teams, arrived to find the man, identified as Mr Aneuk, lying against shrubbery, conscious but in critical condition.

He had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the right temple, with the weapon, a .22 calibre homemade pistol, found nearby along with a spent cartridge and two empty small liquor bottles. Emergency responders provided first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

Eyewitness Mr Chanachot, 49, a street food vendor near the temple, said he initially thought the man was simply drunk and sleeping. “I saw him lying there and heard a snoring sound. When I noticed the blood, I immediately called the authorities,” he recounted.

Police later searched his rented home about one kilometre from the temple and found a suicide note. In the note, he expressed remorse and apologised to those he had wronged, stating, “At this moment, harsh words have put me in danger. I take responsibility for my mistakes… I will settle my debts with my life. Goodbye to everyone.”

The incident follows a report filed on 21 August by a 13-year-old girl’s family. The girl had been picked up from school by the man, who allegedly attempted to take her to his home against her will. The girl managed to escape and alerted her family, who subsequently filed a police complaint.

The girl’s mother, Ms Thip, told reporters that her daughter had been approached by the man twice during the journey, “He continued to follow her until she reached a crowded café. Only then did he leave,” she said.

Police are continuing their investigation, focusing on both the alleged molestation case and the circumstances surrounding the man’s suicide attempt.

Too bad the Australian cop turned pedo didn’t succeed.

With his so called weapons experience from his law enforcement days he should of known exactly where to place the barrel,

Directly into HIS temple would of done the job.
