Just before dawn on Saturday, Police Lieutenant Colonel Santi along with Pattaya Police Volunteers made their way to the Sukumvit Road in North Pattaya after three young men were spotted carrying three large bags. The three men looked nervous and were constantly looking around, suggesting they may have been up to no good. Police arrived and detained three men, Khun Anuchar aged 19, Khun Ootit aged 18 and a 15 year old boy. The bags were checked and a computer set including keyboard, monitor and tower along with a digital camera and Nokia Mobile Phone were found inside.

They quickly confessed to stealing the items from a shop located nearby which sells wheels for cars and pick-ups. The owner of the shop, Khun Wirapong aged 55 was contacted and he soon arrived and identified Khun Anuchar as an ex-employee of the shop who had apparently stolen items from him in the past. A fourth man, Khun Gijar aged 18, who was part of the gang but not directly involved in the theft was later arrested. He confessed to his part in the robbery whereby he would receive the computer and later sell it to a friend. At Pattaya Police Station the men confessed to stealing the computer so they could play a game as they did not have enough money to play the game at an Internet Games Shops.

The game in question, “Special Force” is a popular on-line game played here in Pattaya. The other items were due to be resold for cash and the proceeds were to be split between the gang members who are now behind bars awaiting a court appearance where they face charges of theft.
