A 24-year-old woman from Nakhon Ratchasima has reported being defrauded of more than 23,000 baht after attempting to buy a second-hand motorcycle through TikTok.

On 27 August, Ms Ariya Banchongplian filed a complaint with Pattaya City Police, presenting transfer slips and chat messages as evidence.

She told investigators she had seen a burgundy Honda PCX advertised on TikTok for 23,000 baht, with paperwork and registration allegedly in order. After contacting the supposed seller, she was shown what appeared to be a sales contract and tax documents, convincing her the deal was genuine.

Over the course of four transfers, Ms Ariya paid the full amount, with the seller promising to deliver the bike to Chon Buri. However, before the handover, she received a call demanding an additional 10,000 baht.

Becoming suspicious, she asked her brother for help. They later discovered that the real owner of the motorcycle shop was based in Bangkok and had nothing to do with the online post. The shop owner also revealed that several other people had recently contacted them about similar fraudulent adverts.

Realising she had fallen victim to scammers, Ms Ariya immediately reported the incident to Pattaya police. Officers are now investigating the case as part of a wider trend of social media-based fraud.

Yes, of course. Nobody ever gets ripped off on Facebook. 555

With literally millions of bikes for sale, why not go and look then buy if satisfied..Or transfer only 1,000 baht for delivery and pay COD
