The FDA is conducting an “intense investigation” into the deaths of young, healthy children following COVID-19 vaccination, the agency’s commissioner confirmed in a CNN interview last week.

or read the article highlighting what dr Marty Makary - head of the FDA - revealed about that investigation.

I really don't care what Marty Makary has to say because he, despite his new position heading the FDA, is an RFK Jr. fellow traveler with a long history of right-wing contrarian and sometimes dubious/debunked views...   He's also not high on the credibility scale, though probably a bit better than RFK Jr.  To wit:

Everything You Need to Know About Donald Trump’s FDA Pick

Johns Hopkins surgeon Marty Makary has spent years promoting fringe pandemic views and attacking the U.S. government.

Nov 20, 2024

"Donald Trump’s pick to lead the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is a prominent medical contrarian who has cast doubt on the COVID-19 vaccines. ... The résumé on Makary’s website shows no experience in government or managing bureaucracy, and the surgeon has spent years working to undermine confidence in the very agency he is reportedly a top contender to lead.

...

With the pandemic, he has emerged as a popular figure on the political right for his particular brand of contrarianism, which has included falsely asserting in a February 2021 op-ed that the U.S. would achieve COVID herd immunity by April of that year. Even before COVID, Makary was controversial. In 2016, he was behind a widely rebuked study in the British Medical Journal purporting to find that medical error was the third leading cause of death in the U.S. Shortly after publication, the editors-in chief of BMJ Quality and Safety debunked the findings.

...

Makary’s pandemic advocacy has alienated him from the mainstream of public health, but it has been a boon to him in other ways. For example, he has made influential allies like [now NIH chief] Bhattacharya and become a favorite of right-wing media. In 2021, he was included on a list of “The dishonest doctors who were Fox News’ most frequent medical guests in 2021” by watchdog group Media Matters"

...

Stoking Vaccine Fears

Makary’s focus on vaccination as a harmful act of the federal government and public health authorities during the HSSCP hearing was unsurprising. He had long been promoting fear toward the mRNA COVID shots, which have saved millions of lives to date, overhyping concerns about rare, often self-resolving side effects while advocating for infection-acquired immunity as stronger and preferable."

Sadly, in recent months, it's become very clear that Kennedy and his various henchmen now heading the health agencies under HHS (CDC, NIH, FDA and others] have no qualms about producing flawed, faked and misleading reports. So whatever "investigation" Makary and Co. end up producing on the supposed subject of "child deaths" is going to be regarded as suspect and likely "doctored" from the get-go.

Here are some recent examples of why what's being produced by HHS under RFK Jr. often has little credibility, just as RFK Jr. himself has almost zero credibility:

Researchers Say HHS Memo to Congress Twisted Work to Back RFK Jr.'s Anti- Vaccine Agenda

June 19, 2025

"A memo sent to Congress by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services misrepresented medical studies to justify the agency’s decision to stop recommending COVID-19 vaccines to pregnant women, the studies’ authors have told NewsGuard. [emphasis added]

AND

White House MAHA Report may have garbled science by using AI, experts say

The report, led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was intended to address the reasons for the decline in Americans’ life expectancy

"Some of the citations that underpin the science in the White House’s sweeping “MAHA Report” appear to have been generated using artificial intelligence, resulting in numerous garbled scientific references and invented studies, AI experts said Thursday. [emphasis added]

It's a truly deplorable state of affairs when the above kind of dreck is what's being promulgated by formerly credible U.S. health agencies now being run by RFK Jr. and his henchmen.

The safe bet these days, sadly, is if it comes out of HHS under Kennedy and his henchmen, it's likely not to be believed.
