A 58-year-old man in Lampang endured an embarrassing ordeal early on 10 September, after becoming trapped upside down on a metal fence for over two hours. Emergency services from Tonthong Lampang Rescue Foundation and Thung Fai Police Station were called to the scene at a home in Tha Thok Village, Thung Fai Subdistrict, Muang Lampang District. The man was rescued without serious injury.

Authorities found the man in a heavily intoxicated state, suspended by his trousers caught on the sharp metal fence. Neighbours initially tried to help, but the man’s loud protests and threats prevented them from intervening safely. Rescue personnel secured him in place, on a spine board before carefully cutting his trousers free from the fence.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the man had mistakenly climbed the wrong property fence while drunk, believing it to be his own home. The sharp fence did not penetrate his body, limiting injuries to minor scrapes and bruises. Local authorities confirmed that he was taken home safely after treatment and is expected to fully recover, but faces some local embarrassment.
