Daniel Quisa-ot, once a detainee, has successfully obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering while incarcerated. Formerly a scholar and Dean's Lister, Daniel's path drastically changed when he was imprisoned a semester before completing his degree. Despite the challenges, he proved that bars couldn't hinder his dreams, fulfilling his parents' aspirations too.

Prior to his imprisonment, Daniel had to drop out just before finishing his degree. His university allowed him to continue his studies the next school year since he hadn't been sentenced yet. Remarkably, he completed his thesis on "Design and Installation of Jail Alarm and Communication System" while behind bars, relying heavily on external communication for feedback and revisions.

In an exclusive interview, Daniel shared the hurdles he faced, from physical altercations occurring nearby to lacking basic resources for studying. His perseverance was bolstered by support from the University President, Rev. Jojo Sumastre, his professors, friends, and his family. The jail warden also played a crucial role in enabling him to pursue his education from within.

After two years, Daniel's case was dismissed, and he was immediately thrust into taking the board exam due to his father's passing. Despite not attending review centers, he passed and became a certified Electrical Engineer. Daniel expressed his view that struggles are essential to appreciating success, emphasizing the importance of unwavering faith.

Looking forward, Daniel now works for the government and holds four Professional Regulation Commission licenses. He believes in moving towards one’s goals despite life's challenges, underscoring the significance of faith, persistence, and patience for long-term achievement.

A good news story!  Held on remand for 2 years and still managed to get this done.  Well done to those who believed in him.
