Don’t read so much into comments. They do not necessarily reflect one’s overall attitude. It's just for amusement, parrying with fools.

 

Personally, I think Trump is a vile, self-centered, weak, mendacious, miserable piece of excrement, the polar opposite of everything the country was hoped to be and against everything I believed when I served the country. Similarly, I think all of his supporters are either woefully ignorant, or just losers…save for the billionaires who likely think Trump is scum, but they want tax breaks and to stay out of jail. I do not hold back expressing that.

 

None of that gets in the way of life’s enjoyment. I’ve gained secondary citizenship and have no intention of stepping foot in the US again until MAGA is flushed into the same sewer as McCarthyism. I won’t give up my US Passport, because doing so requires me to pay a silly tax on all assets over $5 million. I refuse to contribute to Trump’s grifting or his garish ballroom or his golf cheating habit.

 

I’m fit, healthy, wealthy and live a life I know is infinitely better than the vast majority of humans, who have ever walked on this planet, got to enjoy.

 

Of course I don’t suffer fools easily, and MAGAs are, in my opinion, fools. They do not even begin to understand real American ideals, the kind that the Founders, who knew quite well their own moral shortcomings, set the nation on an endless path to achieve. The US took many steps forward over the last 250 years and is currently taking some giant steps backwards. This, too, shall pass. Trump and MAGA will be viewed historically for the moral and intellectual emptiness that is their stock and trade.

I don't understand all the arguing about where people here travel to. Thailand is very cheap to travel and if anyone who lives here wants to travel, they can do it very easily either on public transportation or via their own car.

 

I'm thinking those who live by the beaches are perfectly content staying there, as Thailand's beaches are the best attraction here besides the women, who are there anyway.

 

As far as going anywhere else, if you've seen a few temples, especially the larger ones, you've seen them all, and Isaan is the same anywhere you go, interchangeable cities that mostly look the same. Kanchanaburi was nice to see the war history, and Bangkok is just like all other cities around the world, congested with a lot of places to eat.

 

I'm also thinking many have children, so traveling isn't as easy as if you were single, but again, you can travel all over Thailand and it all looks much the same. Mountains, flats, rice fields, small villages with the same type of shops and noodle stops, buffaloes eating in the roads and a million loose dogs.

 

I wish someone would give me a nickle for every assumption made here by a few. i could take a trip around the world. Everyone here is behind a keyboard for as long as they're online, and you can do that anywhere, not just mom's basement, as some think others are.

 

There are those who are world travelers, and they're usually single without a family. And there are those who take a week's vacation every year and travel around to see something new. Neither makes the other any better, as they both have their own reasons. And there are some who just BS to try to show off, which means nothing as the rest aren't really missing much anyway, especially living here.

Been to Europe. I stayed in $300 hotels. When I was in europe I didnt sit on a Thai forum abusing some stranger. Thats pretty sad. But we all know your stories are fake.
