Hi Guys...

pervious post

My fiancé is currently here on a Prospective Marriage visa which ends in march.

Everything is going good. She has just started a diploma course.

Unfortunately with the cost of the visa, tickets, etc and now the course along with all the extra things I've bought around the apartment to make it more liveable.

I'm basically completely broke, each month I'm struggling to keep up with my mortgage, credit cards repayments and make ends met.

I'm 24 so I didn't have much money saved up to begin with, so I'm starting to get very stressed out about things.

I know once my fiancé finishes her course and has a stable income life will be a lot easier, but that's still 12months away.

Originally we planned to have a wedding in Australia for my friends and family, then fly to Thailand for a wedding for her family/friends (and honey-moon) and return to Australia and apply for the spouse visa.

But there's no way I will have the money saved in time to pay for all the above.

I know we could just get married (go sign the papers) and do the whole wedding thing when we have the money saved but that just doesn't sound right to me.

Borrowing more money wont work because i can't afford any more repayments on my salary.

I know the visa she has is based on us getting married before it ends.

Has anyone ever heard of a Prospective Marriage visa being extended? or bridged to another visa.

We still want to get married I just need more time to sort of my finances.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

If your circumstances change to the extent that you can't meet the visa obligations, you are obliged to inform the Immigration Dept. in writing.

In this regard I suggest you phone them and ask for advice.
