Man Stabs Relative After Jealous Rage at Drinking Party

A man in Surat Thani stabbed his relative to death after becoming enraged over a remark about his wife during a drinking session. The incident occurred on 24 September 2025 in Tha Chang district, with police arresting the suspect at the scene. The victim, identified as 28-year-old Mr. Rungtawan from Bueng Kan, suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest.

Police from Tha Chang station, led by Pol Lt Col Thammaprasit Yongyodying, received the report and attended the scene with Kusolsattha rescue volunteers. The attack happened at a workers’ camp where three men, including the victim and the suspect, had been drinking. Officers recovered a 33-centimetre blood-stained knife, which was kept as evidence.

The suspect, Mr. Likhit, also from Bueng Kan, was found with blood on his hands and was reportedly still intoxicated when detained. Witnesses said that after drinking, Mr. Likhit left to rest, but the victim made comments implying an affair with his wife. The suspect then returned, argued with the victim and fatally stabbed him despite attempts by others to intervene.

Authorities confirmed that both the victim and suspect were relatives. Preliminary investigations suggest jealousy and intoxication as the primary motives for the killing. Police stated that Mr. Likhit has been taken for questioning and will face charges in line with the law. Further investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the case. Officials are also gathering testimony from witnesses to strengthen the case before court proceedings.
