A parking row outside a restaurant in Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya district erupted into a violent confrontation and truck-ramming incident, leaving two vehicles damaged. The clash unfolded in full view of the public and a police officer, shocking onlookers along the Ayutthaya-Sena Road in tambon Ban Pom.

The dispute began when a 33-year-old man, partner of the 27-year-old eatery owner, attempted to reverse their white Toyota pickup truck near a black Nissan pickup. Inside the Nissan was a family of five, including children aged eight months, 12 and 15. The children’s father, 32, was unloading a baby stroller and reportedly warned the Toyota driver to manoeuvre carefully, prompting a heated response from the restaurant group.

The situation quickly escalated from verbal exchanges to a physical altercation involving both families and restaurant staff. Witnesses described how tensions boiled over, leading to the Toyota pickup ramming into the customers’ Nissan. In retaliation, both vehicles repeatedly struck each other in a dangerous exchange.

During the incident, the Toyota pickup rebounded and hit a lamp post, further raising the risk to bystanders. The Nissan sustained damage to its front, side and rear, with airbags deployed and even a pavement brick thrown into the cabin, through the back window. The Toyota also suffered  frontal damage, while a man narrowly avoided being crushed between the colliding vehicles.

The confrontation took place despite the presence of a police officer at the scene. Media reports did not confirm whether any arrests were made or charges filed immediately after the clash. The event has drawn significant attention locally, raising concerns about public safety and escalating violence from seemingly minor disputes.

Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations into the causes of the incident and the responsibility of those involved. The outcome could involve legal proceedings against both parties depending on findings from witness statements, CCTV footage, and damage assessments.

Oh my, this must’ve been fun to watch.

Hot tempered children should have their driving licenses removed.

Why are pick-ups now being called "trucks"???

I picture  a truck as something with 6 to 10+ wheels and requiring the driver to climb up into the cab.

As noted by someone else, in Oz we call them "utes" (utility vehicles).

I suppose we have, once again, adopted the American slang.🫩

What an unusual family, especially for Thailand. An 8 month old, a 12 year old and a 15 year old. What a huge age difference. I wonder if the youngest one has a different mother to the other 2, I'd say most likely the father remarried. Also, these days, almost no Thai family has more than 2 children (speaking about the current generation, not previous ones).
