Recreating what's familiar, or whats healthy?

Featured Replies

Without realising it we tend to choose partners and stay in relationships because they fit familiar emotional roles ( Even though these or those roles were painful )

In therapy we can call this repetition compulsion or reenactment.

Together we can explore these roles and relational templates, understanding is the first step to clarity and to emphasise growth and choice.
