A fire destroyed a wooden stilt house in Chun district, Phayao province, on 3 October after a battery charger left plugged in is believed to have sparked the blaze. The incident, which occurred at Ban Dong Khian, Moo 3, Huai Yang Kham subdistrict, was reported to village headman Laksachai Buddikham, who immediately alerted disaster prevention units. Fire trucks from Huai Yang Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organisation and Huai Khao Kam Municipality rushed to the scene.

When firefighters arrived, flames were already engulfing the elevated wooden house, producing thick smoke that alarmed nearby residents.
