Korat Immigration. Do they accept 40k/month income?

Featured Replies

I'm fairly sure this has been asked and answered but I haven't found a definitive reply. As the title suggests, I am getting differing advice from some friends who have Non 0 Marriage visas. An American friends says that Korat did not accept his US income even though it is over 100k/month. Another Brit says he has done the 40k/month for several years now with an income of 65k/month. He does not have 400k in the bank. Any advice? This is in Korat for the 1 year extension.

The best advice that I can offer (I use the 40,000 thb system through the Kamphaeng Phet office ) is that you not bother asking friends but talk directly to the Immigration department at Korat.

They will tell you their requirements and it will be up to you to meet them. AFAIK all Immigration offices have the same basic requirements, BUT each IO can ask for extra documents or information.

KPP for example wants to see 12 monthly statements and none must be less than 40,000 thb, even if the monthly average is above that level for the year.

They also want 12 months bank statements plus a letter from the bank confirming that the account is in your name only. They also want to see that the bankbook is updated the same day that you apply, even if you only deposit 100 thb.

The statements also need the bank stamp and be on the bank headed paper and either the bankbook and/or the bankbook need to show that the money came from offshore. In the bankbook it is usually coded as FTT or similar. On the bank statements it is usually shown as an International Transfer.

I normally apply a couple of weeks before the renewal date.

Bangkok Bank require 3 bank WORKING days notice for 12 months statements, not just 3 days notice,
