A 31-year-old woman was left critically injured after falling from the eighth floor of a condominium in Pattaya on 7 October. The incident occurred behind Building B of a 15-storey residential complex, where emergency responders found the woman unconscious and struggling to breathe. She sustained a severely broken right arm and heavy bleeding from her mouth and nose, caused by head injuries, before being rushed to Pattaya City Hospital by rescue workers.

Police identified the injured woman as Ms. Apisara, aged 31. Her mother, Ms. Puangpetch, 58, told authorities through tears that she and her daughter shared a unit, on the eighth floor of the building. She said she had been asleep at the time of the incident and was unaware that her daughter had fallen until a security guard phoned to alert her. Rushing downstairs, she found her daughter lying injured and said she was in shock and disbelief.

According to Ms. Puangpetch, her daughter had suffered a stroke over a year ago and was recently issued a disability card identifying her as a person with a mobility or physical impairment (Category 3). The mother revealed that her daughter had become depressed in recent months, often expressing distress over being mocked and ridiculed by neighbours about her disability. She had only recently started taking medication for depression. Ms. Puangpetch said she believed her daughter might have attempted to take her own life due to these ongoing emotional struggles.

Police have documented the incident and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall. Authorities said they are working to determine whether the event was an accident or a deliberate act of self-harm.

Key Takeaways

• A 31-year-old woman suffered critical injuries after falling from the eighth floor of a Pattaya condominium.

• Her mother believes the incident may have been linked to depression caused by bullying over her disability.

• Police are investigating whether the fall was accidental or intentional.

What a tragedy on multiple levels.

31 is way too young to have a stroke.

What kind of stupid people mock someone with a disability?

Self loathing individuals of course.

Isn't it embedded in the Thai sense of humour?  Dwarfs are sometimes hired to be laughed at.

Yes, they certainly are more pragmatic and less inclined to the extreme woke type behaviour. But here it is mentioned the 'mocking and being ridiculed by neighbours' which sounds unpleasant.

Only 1 building at VT6. She fell from Building B. Could be VT1, 2, 5, 7

This is a very sad story, in my opinion there are a few things worse than attempting to take one's own life and failing, and getting severely injured as a result of that failure. Now on top of all the other issues she was dealing with she has to deal with utter and total humiliation.

Probably VT2 B. I stayed there a month awhile back. There was some mentally ill lady who kept trying to open my door every night. I had to make sure the door was always locked.

That's also where I had that strange experience seeing an older foreigner guy who left the door ajar just sitting on the end of his bed staring at the wall.

Wasn't that long ago that fairs in every Western country, US, Europe, S. America featured "Freak Shows" with bearded ladies and 3 armed children.  The eponymous "Siamese Twins": Cheng and Eng were taken from their Thai mother by an American physician and exhibited in freak shows all over the US.  They managed to educate themselves and later bought their freedom, later becoming plantation owners; slave owners as well.
