Rat Beach Party Coming To An End

Featured Replies

The authorities from Pattaya Public Environment Center are aware of the problem of large colonies of rats gathering around Pattaya therefore a team of officers went along

Pattaya Beach Road to make some inspections in the night of 10th August.

When the officers found a colony of rats; they fed them with poisoned sweets that instantly killed them. More sweets were thrown around the beaches and trees of Pattaya and not so long after a large number of bodies were collected by officers for disposal.

Western associations with the rat are generally negative this is why Pattaya has been getting a lot of complaints from tourists. Rats are classed as vermin and are potential disease carriers.

Authorities in Pattaya are trying hard to suppress them and hopefully they will be gone after continuous clean up days ahead.

Whether or not their methods are successful, it's good news that they are taking the problem seriously.

There's usually a large quantity of litter and food scraps along the beach at night. Unless they became super fastidious about cleaning that up, they'll be fighting a losing battle.

So - don't walk your dogs along the beach, don't let kids pick anything up.

Looks like the authorities are using a strong poison rather than warf
