Police and rescue workers responded, at 04:00 on 13 October 2025, to a fatal collision on the southbound lane of the Asian Highway in Moo 7, Wang Mai Subdistrict, Pabon District, Phatthalung Province. A 28-year-old man, Arivat Nokkhaw from Padang Besar, Sadao District, Songkhla Province, who was deaf and mute, was found dead on the road with severe injuries. Car debris was discovered nearby, suggesting a hit-and-run incident.

The collision occurred in a dark area without street lighting and no witnesses have come forward to seeing the crash. The deceased’s body was discovered by a passing motorist, who immediately alerted the authorities. Police collected evidence at the scene, including a piece of vehicle debris, to aid in identifying the offending vehicle.

He had been reported missing on 11 October 2025, two days before his body was found. Police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage and other evidence to track the vehicle responsible and bring the driver to justice.

Authorities have sent the body to Pabon Hospital for a detailed autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the victim’s whereabouts in recent days, or who may have possibly saw the incident or have details of the vehicle to come forward. The case remains under active investigation as police attempt to locate the perpetrator and fill in the details of the victim’s disappearance.
