Gaza as an "open air prison"

Are you that dumb? Or are you intentionally overreading the core message:

OK, maybe too many words for you so here is the summary:

Between 2017 and 2021, Thousands of Palestinians were shot and more than 70.000 heavily injured by the IDF or settlers on Palestinian soil.

Many Palestinians filed complaints.

But from all those complaints only 1260 were accepted by the Israeli military law enforcement system.

Most of those complaints were dismissed after a "preliminary examination," and only 248 investigations were opened.

Again, the vast majority of them were closed without prosecution.

11 investigations led to indictments against soldiers.

A few soldiers got prosecuted and received sentences

Less than 1% of the IDF soldiers who had murdered innocent Palestinians, many of them children, were prosecuted. They got 1 to 2 months of community service.

Classic APARTHEID

Got it? No?

  • That hotel, like 90% of Gaza is rubble. Stop trying to deviate from Israeli crimes. Gaza has been a prison camp for decades, anyone non Israeli/Jewish can see that.

  • Gaza is rubble because of Hamas.   The photos I added were BEFORE Hamas decided to start a genocide. They clearly show that Gaza was far from a "prison camp". That is a shibboleth that needs

So you were only lying about Gaza?

Wait, what? Gazans were travelling outside their borders? How is that possible in an open-air-prison?

A few were allowed for medical treatment for example.

And what about the thousands of rockets Palestinians fire into Israel, intentionally killing or disabling kids?

Yep, some self-made excuses of a missile which almost never caused major damage.

AL MASHTAL HOTEL - Reviews (Gaza City, Palestinian Territories)

The Al Mashtal Hotel (also spelled Al-Mashtal) in Gaza City, Gaza Strip, was bombed and completely destroyed in late 2023 during Israeli military operations in the region. Maybe do some research if trying to publish propaganda.

The claim is that Gaza was an open-air-prison before the 10-7 attack.

That it was an open-air-prison, was justification for the raping, killing. torturing and kidnapping 1,200 mostly children.

It was a open prison before that already too for the majority of people. The only difference is that back then they still had buildings and some form of economy, of which mostly benefited israeli's too. Like how can you even dare to make stuff like this up, it's an absolute nightmare and most people could and can't leave.

Like who are you trying to joke with here, the fact that a few american palestinian business people owned decent places justifies what is reality for 95% + of the population and their (lack of) freedom? Anyway, the world woke up already and times will change soon.

The entire WW2 excusing is out of the window too. Perhaps the bible is right, soon you israel faces a repeat of history again.

Based on extensive documentation from human rights organizations, United Nations experts, and international observers, I would consider Gaza to have functioned as an "open-air prison" for many years—particularly since the imposition of a blockade in 2007—due to severe, long-standing restrictions on freedom of movement, access to resources, and economic activity that have profoundly limited the lives of its approximately 2.3 million residents.

This characterization isn't my invention; it's a widely adopted metaphor reflecting the territory's isolation, high population density (one of the world's highest), and dependency on external aid, which have been exacerbated by periodic conflicts and, more recently, the ongoing war since October 2023.

Israel controls all air, sea, and most land crossings (e.g., Erez and Kerem Shalom), while Egypt controls the Rafah crossing to the south. Permits for exit are rare and often denied for non-humanitarian reasons.Fewer than 1% of Gazans can travel abroad annually; students, patients, and traders face indefinite barriers, preventing family visits, education, or work opportunities.

Imposed jointly by Israel and Egypt in June 2007 after Hamas seized control from the Palestinian Authority. Intended as temporary, it became indefinite, with brief easings (e.g., during ceasefires). Over 18 years, it has stifled economic growth; unemployment hovers around 45-50%, and 80% rely on aid.

Limits on imports (e.g., construction materials deemed "dual-use" for security reasons) and exports; fishing zone restricted to 6-12 nautical miles; no functional airport or seaport under Palestinian control.Chronic shortages of electricity (4-8 hours/day), water (95% undrinkable), and fuel, leading to health crises like untreated sewage and disease outbreaks.

UN experts (2023) describe the entire occupied Palestinian territory as an "open-air prison" due to confinement and surveillance. Human Rights Watch (2022) calls Gaza specifically Israel's "open-air prison at 15," citing collective punishment. Amnesty International and Norwegian Refugee Council echo this, labeling it the "world's largest open-air prison."As of 2025, UN reports note intensified violations amid the genocide allegations in Gaza.

Why did the Palestinians not just relocate to Jordon or Egypt or another Arab country?

Why would that be necessary if you claim that they were free until only the fake october attack? How do you think people become radical? Perhaps by exact what happened since over 15 years. The intellectual and IQ part really lacks once again...

The irony is that I speak regular with some very orthodox jews, and they even admit and point this out.

Last but not least you ignore long standing freedom issues that date from over 1.5 decade ago.

A smart and educated response of Israeli's would be to show the difference, and admit the wrongdoing and ill behavior of fellow country men, that would raise sympathy and understanding. However, as you confirm with a few other people on this site alone, you do not care at all and just illicit justify wrong behavior and doing. This is not unique to this forum and you + a few others too, it's 99% of the time everywhere like that. No wonder everyone has issues with you guys since centuries.

Because it was very clear from the start that you're not having a conversation here.

What you did was it quite well-known debate strategy, mostly used in discussions when your opponent is exposing something which is contrary to your position and in addition is having the better arguments.

1. Pick out some completely unimportant debatable point and accuse your opponent of being a liar

2 hours ago, Yellowtail said:

You would have to imaging, because there were no Israeli soldiers in Gaza in 2020.

Are you lying or just mistaken?

2. Confuse your opponent with the next triviality

1 hour ago, Yellowtail said:

Okay, so no Israeli soldiers in Gaza in 2020, but some in the West Bank. There are less than 170K active personnel TOTAL in the IDF, and there are about three-million Palestinians in the West Bank, but we're to believe that these three-million Palestinians are all being harassed almost daily and sometimes pushed around by the IDF.

If half the IDF are in the West Bank full time, each one would have got door to door and harass 35 Palestinians a day for this to be true.

3. Create more confusion by taking out every sentence out of context and machine gunning him with questions

The only sad thing is that you obviously do not realize what you are doing.

You are protecting a fascist and apartheid system while whitewashing its aggressions and brutality towards people it has occupied in the past and justifying more atrocities towards them in the present and the future.

You are stripping the Palestinians of their basic human rights and condemn them for things Israel has done to them 1000 times more.

And you do all this by downplaying or denying Israeli atrocities While trying to present them as the victims.

Same as you I am not able to offer a solution but other than you, I strongly believe that a fair solution for both sides can only be found by unsparingly revealing the truth of the actions and crimes of both sides And not by hiding it and trying to rewrite history.

Because this way you are condemned to repeat it.

We can start with the attack on the synagogue in Manchester, but there are literally millions of other examples spread over 2,000 years.

This history of antisemitism from the Encyclopedia Britannica has many of them:

https://www.britannica.com/topic/antisemitism/Nazi-antisemitism-and-the-Holocaust

And some more recent examples:

I could give many. many more examples of the persecution of Jews through the ages, but we're not allowed to post too many links.

I certainly don't believe Jews are the only minority group to have ever been persecuted,  but those other groups have no connection to this  thread.  Jews were persecuted 2,000 years prior to the start of WWII.  Jews had NOTHING to do with "central banks in paris" (???) or provoking WWII.   That's hardcore antisemitism according to the working definition of antisemitism of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, which has been adopted by numerous countries and organizations:

https://holocaustremembrance.com/

It's interesting to see some AN members are dropping the "Israeli" and "Zionist" code words and  straight out using "Jews"  and denying the existence of antisemitism.  I hear the tones of the Horst-Wessel-Lied in the background.  Maybe I should change the flag of Israel for this avatar:   jude.jpg.dcafd99541c24d3989514968dbba0804.jpg

Before the rise of Zionism and the ensuing wars, many Jewish and Muslim families in the region spoke the same languages, shared neighborhoods, and participated in each other’s festivals and commerce. The Jews caused and continue to cause all the conflicts in the ME with continued land grabs and illegal settlements in Palestinian lands.
You know very well that it is accepted by many, including forums like this to say things like Muslims cause all the problems in the UK but when saying Jews cause all the problems in the ME, that antisemitism card is abused.

You know very well that Netanyahu, Smotrich, Ben Gvir want and the latter have stated recently that they are going to take all Gaza, West Bank and even farther afield. It is this greed and arrogance that they are better than others that has caused the hatred of Israel around the world, even in Thailand, a very tolerant nation.

I’ve no idea why you continue to support the vile extremist Israeli government.

Were you in the US army, brainwashed into unjust wars and all Muslims are evil.

Do you think 11/9 happened in a vacuum, do you think 7/10 happened in a vacuum?
